Well, the Bulldogs took advantage of a slumping Grand Rapids team with a 5-2 win on Friday night. Chris Higgins had 2 goals, while Locke, Sanford and Ott also had goals. Yann Danis made 25 saves on 27 shots for the win.
The Bulldogs also had 2 powerplay goals, and were 2 for 7 for the night.
The Dogs face the Baby Leafs from St. John's tomorrow night.
Thoughts on the game for those who saw it?

Chris Higgins had 2 goals, while Locke, Sanford and Ott also had goals. Where's my fellow cheerleader HFLA to point this out? Locke confounded in the juniors, the pundits couldn't understand why the Habs would draft him, and yet there he is, doing what he always did.

Has Hainsey been a healthy scratch for all 3 games Sanford has so far played?

I am being carefull not to shameless promote my favorite young prospect. Rubbing salt in the wounds of fans who project Kastitsyn the next incarnation of Guy Lafleur would be too easy, so I am sitting on the sideline quietly cheering and supporting my other shameless favorite, Dubya. More than the goal scoring and assist collection is the team leading +/- by a mile that impresses coaches like Jarvis who look for two way players with good attitudes. Locke didn't get much ice time at the beginning of the year and was expected to be sent back to Jr.'s or Long Beach (I would be attending a lot more Ice Dog games), but he worked hard and is learning at tha AHL level. ;D

Locke is proving he can do it at the AHL level, for sure. The jump to the next level is tougher for a small guy than for a bigger guy with a great shot. That's not to say I don't hope for Locke. I like it when the underdog confounds the 'experts', but I wouldn't bet my house on it. 9 times out of ten you lose the house.

Locke has been an underdog everywhere he has played, with the same knock against him, and has had the same surprising results. I'm banking on him to continue the trend.

Has Hainsey been a healthy scratch for all 3 games Sanford has so far played? Hainsey has post-concussion syndrome. Don't know when he'll be back.

Hainsey has post-concussion syndrome. Don't know when he'll be back. At least he didn't get some sense knocked out of him. You have to have some to Begin with. A shameless ploy to inject my favorite Hab, Steve Begin.
