Oops, didn't see that Mr B had already posted some info on this in the Euro Prospects thread. Sorry, it can be moved their if the mods want.
Several of our prospects are currently playing in the European Champions Cup. The top teams from Russia, Sweden, Finland, Slovakia, Czech Republic and Germany battle to see who is the best of the best. Alex Perezhogin's Avangard Omsk will meet Oskari Korpikari's Oulu Karpat in tomorrow's final. Here is how the lads have done to date:
Alex Perezhogin (Avangard) - 2g 1a 3pts in two games
Oskari Korpikari (Karpat) - 0 pts in two games
Ilkka Mikkola (Karpat) - 0 pts in two games
Victor Ujcik (Karpat) - 0 pts in two games
Some ex-Habs were playing as well:
Stephan Robidas (Frankfurt) - 2a in two games
Patrick Lebeau (Frankfurt) - 2g in two games
Andrei Kovalenko (Avangard) - 2g 4a in two games
Ex-Bulldog and Tampa prospect Eero Sumervuori had 1g 3a in two games as well.

Alex Perezhogin's team Avangard Omsk beat Finland's Karpat Oulu 2-1 in OT to win the tourney. Perezhogin was held scoreless in the final game. Karpat's only goal was scored by Habs oft forgotten draft pick from ages ago, Ilkka Mikkola. Korpikari was listed on the Karpat roster but had no points. www.iihf.com/news/iihfpr3105.htmJust some factual stuff about our Finnish Man of Mystery. He was selected by Montreal Canadiens round 3 #65 overall 1997 NHL Entry Draft. Ilkka Mikkola ("Ilu") is 25 but is going to turn 26 next week, so still likely has some good years left in him. He has spent the last 7 years playing in the sm-liiga, which is impressive for his age. He is 5'11.5" 196lbs according to Karpat's official webpage. His team is very solid and sits in second place in the league. He has 3g 12a 15pts 28pim and is +19 in 28 games played. He is just one point off his career points total in half the games, so he is developing nicely on the offensive front. He played for team Finland at the WJC for three straight years back in his junior days (also impressive), and he is a team-mate of Hab hopeful Oskari Korikari ("Ozi"). Anyone else think he would be a great help in Hamilton right now?
