I had to look him up but he was in the same draft as Louis Leblanc ... similar numbers to Leblanc at this stage of his career ... wonder what Bergevin sees in him ...
Cheers.

He's a Blackhawks prospect who can't crack the line up and apparently has demanded a trade. Berg might know a fair amount about him, which would be the connection Dreger is trying to make.

Maybe, like Leblanc, there's a reason he's not getting a real chance at the NHL...

Timmins likely remembers him from his draft year. Looking at Morin's stats...should be able to play in NHL. Led USNDTP in scoring as 16 year-old. PPG in AHL last year. Good size, looks like he has a little edge to his game.

Hawks trade Morin to Columbus for defender Erixon.

Imagine the Habs will hold off making major trades until they see how Galchnyuk responds to playing center

Imagine the Habs will hold off making major trades until they see how Galchnyuk responds to playing center Seems logical enough. There was an article in La Presse about Desharnais's time running out - if he can't put up numbers, soon there won't be room for him as a top 3 center on this team. (http://www.lapresse.ca/sports/hockey/201412/11/01-4827217-le-temps-presse-pour-david-desharnais.php) I really wonder what we might get for him, I don't expect much, but still, you never know.

I can see a Desharnais for Perron swap. The salaries are almost the same and it fills out the need for Edmonton's second line center and our need for a 2nd line winger.

I imagine Andrighetto or Hudon will be as good as Perron. If not now in near future. Perron be much easier to re-trade than DD though. If Oilers are looking for a center and desperate enough...be good trade for Habs.

Imagine the Habs will hold off making major trades until ... I'm hoping Bergevin makes one last deal around the trade deadline and I'm hoping that deal doesn't involve a roster player ... I was all for entertaining offers for Desharnais, but I'm not so sure it would be a good idea moving him, or any other respected teammate at this point ... just an opinion, but Bergevin has significantly changed the image of the team already and the season isn't even half over ... how many more changes can the team take ... as an aside, you know yourself that I've been hard on Therrien, but at the same time I think the overnight Bergevin-look to the team might have something to do with the inconsistency we've seen this season ... again, just a thought ... Cheers.

I'm of the opinion that what Galchenyuk does, or doesn't do, won't impact on whether or not Berg makes a move. If there's a move he likes, he's going to do it. He's shown us that. If there's a move that involves DD and gets us another competent scoring winger, I'm fine going ahead with Galchenyuk, Plekanec, Eller, and Malhotra.

If Galchenyuk proves he is ready for center will affect Habs needs. An offensive stud not as important as before. I would give it between 15-20 games, but looks great now. If DD continues to play well away from Max, creates more room to trade a center(other than DD).
