While the CHL top prospects were all the buzz, our own Habs top prospects were handing a nice licking to Chicago for their first win against the Wolves this season. Two empty netters by the Dogs, so quite a close one against a tough goalie in Lehtonen. Gavin Morgan leads the way with the hat trick (who would have thunk it?) and an assist. Danis started and Ellis replaced him for the win. Hainsey, Kostitsyn and Ivanans all back in the lineup.
SCORING SUMMARY Period 1 Hamilton - Duncan Milroy (powerplay) (Corey Locke, Steve Ott) 8:53 Hamilton - Gavin Morgan (Jonathan Ferland, Raitis Ivanans) 9:12 Chicago - Ben Simon (Lonny Bohonos, J.P. Vigier) 9:37 Chicago - Steve Maltais (powerplay) (Cory Larose, Greg Hawgood) 10:38 Chicago - Travis Roche (J.P. Vigier, Ben Simon) 13:14 Period 2 (no scoring)
Period 3 Hamilton - Gavin Morgan (Jonathan Ferland, Benjamin Carpentier) 6:42 Hamilton - Chris Higgins (Tomas Plekanec) 13:17 Hamilton - Gavin Morgan (emptynet) (Steve Ott, Jason Ward) 19:20 Hamilton - Steve Ott (emptynet) (Gavin Morgan, Jason Ward) 19:51

The official word from the Dogs' site. The interesting note is that Morgan scores for the first time in 28 games...and gets a hat trick. News from the Dog Pound

Not just a hat-trick, but a Gordie Howe hat-trick to boot!
On a more down note, Danis yanked after the first period...

Don't you need an assist for a Gordie Howe hat-trick? He got one on the last empty net goal.
