Good Luck?A new concussion lawsuit has been filed against the National Hockey League.
A suit with 29 plaintiffs, including former NHL players Butch Goring and Manny Legace, was filed in Minnesota District Court on Monday.
The news was first reported by The Hockey News.
The case is set to become part of the multidistrict legislation pending before Judge Susan Nelson. Oral arguments were heard last month in the previous existing suit against the league, originally filed in October.
This most recent suit claims that the NHL "failed to protect its players from head-related injuries" and that the league's "negligence and/or reckless delay in taking proactive steps to protect its players have resulted in years of countless sustained head trauma and injuries by NHL players."
According to the complaint, obtained by ESPN.com, the plaintiffs allege that the league displayed a "cavalier attitude" in the face of scientific evidence that has linked head trauma to long-term neurological damage.

They have a point when it comes to the NHL's negligence re: targeting the head.
It wasn't until after the Cooke hit on Savard that the issue got to the front burner, resulting in Rule 48. For crap's sake...Cooke wasn't penalized by the refs or the league.
That was only 5 years ago.
