Bogo is apparently from the western New York area. I've read comments where he's looking forward to it. Massena, NY is across the St. Lawrence from Cornwall, ON....so it's still a 5 hr. drive from Buffalo....but it's a damn sight closer than the 'Peg.

He's closer to Montreal, by a lot.

Bogo is apparently from the western New York area. I've read comments where he's looking forward to it. Continuing to think about the value of the deal ... Kane = Myers > Bogosian > Stafford > Armia = Lemieux > Kasdorf. The first probably falls somewhere between the two Buffalo prospects heading to Winnipeg. I can't see Bogo = Myers. Myers has significantly more offensive upside. Bogosian might be more physical, but guys Myers size who have showed the ability to play a 200ft game carry more value. The more and more I look at it, the more I see Winnipeg coming up gold with this one. I look at the trade a little different. Forward for Forward , defense for defense Kane >> Stafford Myers > Bogosian I don't really know alot about the prospects involved but, based on quantity and my first blush impressions Kasdorf << Lemieux, Armia, 1st rounder I don't see any of the prosepcts making a big impact, I certainly havent heard about them making waves in their respective leagues. The first rounder could be anyone, but thats the key to me. If that first rounder is a keeper (top 2 lines) than the trade is a wash, if not than Buffalo wins this trade by a landslide.

According to Michel Bergeron, the Habs offered Eller, Emelin and a 1st for E. Kane.
I gotta wonder... would we really let go of 2 roster players for a guy who's out the season ?

If this is the case then maybe Bergevin feels De La Rose and Tinordi are ready for the jump into the bigs ... Kane would be a project for the future ... don't know one way or the other though ... just talking out loud ... Cheers.

Yeah, I could see that. I think MYers' potential swayed that deal Buffalo's way. OUr first and the St. Louis or Washington firsts are basically a wash, so he extra prospects (who aren't that bad), and Myers potential would have me picking Buffalo's offer too.

I have a hard time believing that rumour. At least as it is. Maybe if it was expanded to include Bogosian and prospects, as the actual deal was, but not just like that. Two roster players - two key playoff performers - from a team with serious designs on a long playoff run, if not an actual Cup? I can't see that happening. Now if Bogosian was in on the deal, then perhaps it could be spun differently. But straight up like that? Makes no sense to me.

I have some serious doubts about that rumour also. If MB tossed those names around, I'd have to think he was just doing research into the value of certain players.

Bob McKENZIE today has Buffalo trying to acquire O'Reilly. With Kane and possibly, McDavid, Sabres be different team next year.

Yes they're pushing hard to get him. Bob also stated that without Myers as a chip to offer, it may also be harder to get him and he's not sure they'd have what Colorado would want.
