Any other team it would make complete sense so they could raise a banner to the rafters "Atlantic Division Champions 2014-15".
Yes, I'm worried about injury but a whole week off may not be such a good thing - players lose their groove. Assuming we won't play until next Weds or Thurs, that's a good chunk off. Particularly as we have only played two games the previous week.
We will need home game against TB and it is very hard to see TB losing to the Wings.
The key is to get up on TO early and they will be thinking of their Sunday tee times before the first period is up.

The leafs want to win so theier fans can say they stopped the Habs from winning the divisional title. I want the game to stay close until the last 10 seconds and then we score to win. No time for goonery.

Disagree with this move completely.
Price is their best chance for going anything in the playoffs and he should be protected. We saw the bumps he took from a FLA team that was going nowhere with no retaliation from Habs players. With guys like Komarov & Orr in the lineup you can expect more of the same.
He's set the club record for wins & pretty much has the Vezina wrapped up. This makes no sense unless he had sat last night. It's a totally unnecessary risk & a poor coaching decision.

I don't like how the schedule looks this weekend.
The Habs game starts 30 mins prior to the Lightning game, so any chance of giving the players a night off is gone. There will be a fair bit of score board watching I am sure, so if the Tampa-Boston game is lopsided either way then you can bench people. But in case that game stays close, the Habs have no choice but to give it their best effort to get a W, or at worse a OTL.
Having to go on the road at any point prior to the Conference Finals has to be avoided.

Can't blame them for wanting home ice advantage if they meet the Stamkos squad, I don't mind this decision. However they should have a player or two ready and willing to take a suspension should anything turn in a bad way.

I'd have started Toker, but I'm not coach ... if nothing else it might squash any Ottawa media trumping "they threw the game to avoid Ottawa" kind of talk ... and they'd do it ... for all I know Therrien might want this game just to keep the team focused on winning and a divisional championship would help towards that ... very tough playoffs this year ... doesn't matter who you play, there's so much parity ... no one wants to play the Senators in the first round ... the Rangers rested three starters and I while I think the game would have been closer with those three in it, I really think it would have been a good game to see just the same ... the Senators are confident and probably the best team in the league since Hammond went in nets ... it won't matter who they play, they'll play well ... I think the team that beats them in the first round will probably go deep ... that's just me, though ...
Cheers.

Division champ, well okay but for me the home ice issue in second round is not big deal. I think that Montreal is poor this season versus Tampa because Tampa is built for and commit to puck possession.

I love the mentality damn right it's risky and they might just play themselves in a series where they might get upset but to be the CHAMPS you have to beat whomever they put in front of you regardless who it is....my gut fears Ottawa but really if they can't beat them how will they ever win the ultimate prize.
It's time the Habs play with a swagger my opinion MT worries too much about the other team rather than play to this teams true strengths. No team is perfect but I feel right or wrong this team doesn't play with the edge it will need to get over the hump IMO they play to survive and find a way to win by relying on their goaltender.
This team is pretty tight fit with the goaltender in place if the right buttons are pushed without always reacting to the other teams play there is a chance they could do something special.
Let's hope... at least the window is a jar just need to smash it in,
Go Habs!

The Leafs haven't gotten UP for a game since January.
If they get up to nonsense in Game 82 just to derail our playoff prospects, that's about as LOW as you can go in this game.
Anything done with a clear intent to injure, considering the circumstances, should be harshly treated.
The Leafs should just be thankful that this day finally came….another ho-hum night….collect their paycheques….erase this season from memory.
