Sens' fans will likely be crying, "Quintal is a former Hab….." which is fair game, I suppose.
But I think if Campbell wanted Subban to sit for a game, different story. I'm more relieved that they didn't cave to Cameron's eye-for-an-eye ultimatum. One would think the refs' vision has been re-focussed.
Thanks again, Cameron!
EDIT:
If anybody is free to listen….Marinaro on TSN690 will be simulcasting with the TSN1200 in Ottawa at about 11:05 am. Ottawa hosts: Steve Lloyd and Todd White.
Tony knows how to push buttons, that's for sure.

TSN1050 in Toronto agreeing with the "no supplemental discipline" ruling. The hosts ( Bob Makowitz & Matt Cauz sp?) thought Cameron's comments were idiotic.

Stone off getting x-rays. That should have been done last night. Now it just looks like it's being done for effect.

Ottawa TSN1200 saying that Stone got an xray last night. Getting an MRI today.
They agree it wasnt a 5 minute and ejection ... they feel it should be 2 and reviewed for suspension.
He raises a good question, would Habs fans prefer 2 mins and a 1 game suspension, or 5 and an ejection

Disappointed in Marinaro ...
He was asked if he saw an instance last night where Ottawa ran Price (cause Marinaro predicted they would). He said no. Zibinejad banged into Price's arm and pinned it on the post on Markov's goal. Price stops that before it gets to Markov, if he wasnt interfered with

He was soft on the puck and steared zibinejad towards the post.

Tomorrow, the Sens will report that Stone had his wrist frozen so he could play....he's such a competitor. But tests today show he has a hairline fracture and is day-to-day Micro-fracture of the right wrist…. Availability is unknown at this point. (Forgive the self-quote…but I'm seldom correct... ) ================= Not a bad result at all. We win the game. Subban not suspended. Stone has been somewhat compromised. Now Cameron can really froth in the dressing room, whether the diagnosis was a Sens' scheme or not. "No suspension for breaking the wrist of one of our best players???!!! Game on!" The NHL would be prudent to prevent any kind of Bertuzzi-Moore redux.

No suspension, surprised I'm not. Onto discussing the game and series. They couldn't beat us with an own goal, a bogus 5 on 3, and our two best skaters out of the lineup.
What else do you have Ottawa? Headhunting?

Does anyone remember what PK was suspended for last time we played the Sens in the playoffs; aside from being black and the Habs best skater of course?

My live game view observations:
- DSP did have a good game. He was out there creating space and banging and skating pretty well. Also had a good chance to score. - The fans were loud all night. - I thought the ref (#40) was going to get killed after those back to back penalties with Subban and Eller. There were beer cans hurled at him (not cool) but when he finally called one in the third he got a standing ovation. He didn't help things but letting a lot of Senators stuff go behind the play. - Price was Price. - Gallagher is never going to get things called his way. He isn't diving so it must be from the chirping that the Ref's don't like him. Also he takes a beating each time. - PK and Pleks also did some chirping with the refs. - PK took a nice swap at Pageaus head while trying to hit the puck in the air that was called a high stick. I think he was warned there, so when he did his slahing the refs had had enough with the carelessness. - Emelin was playing real physical and engaged. Need another type like him as Gilbert was out of place a few times and doesn't bring too much. - Desharnais and Parenteau were pretty invisible last night. - 4th line was great. - Eller, Weise were also really good. - DLR didn't play bad. Just didn't do much and a few missed plays/passes. - Hammond was constantly harassed with "Hamm-ond" chants all night. Don't know how it played out on t.v. though. - Random non game fact of the night. The guy who one the half and half ($37500) was about 6 rows behind me. Lucky him.

Oh and side note: I am glad I paid the $6 and went into the Canadiens museum pre-game. It was worth the price seeing some of the old sweaters of the greats. The only downside I found about it is, if it wasn't for taking the metro and getting off at Bonaventure and entering from underground, I would of never of found it.

"This was deliberate, he hit him a few during the game (with stick), then two handed him out in front ..."

PK Subban: "I didn't even look up to see where I was slashing him. As far as targeting players, I am not out there targeting anyone. I sometimes feel that I am the one being targeted. I feel the refs made the right call on the ice"

Nice rundown, TD ... can't replace the live-game atmosphere ... even during the regular season hockey in Montreal is akin to a festival ... and mood picks up momentum as the day progresses ... $37,500 and I'd take a leave of absense from work ... lucky guy indeed ... Cheers.

Microfracture. Play through that son. Play through, so we can hit it, lean on it, etc.
A slash is more a hockey play than a head shot. Politic some place else Murray.

Bryan Murray on now .. "The Gryba incident was a hockey play gone bad ..." "This was deliberate, he hit him a few during the game (with stick), then two handed him out in front ..." Isn't every slash deliberate? The Sens were doing some stick swinging behind the play from the opening face off. Sometimes they hurt, sometimes they don't. It's part of hockey, and when someone gets hurt it is a "a hockey play gone bad". Welcome to the big leagues Mes. Murray and Stone. Sure is nice to be on the other side of all this belly-aching!

Nice to hear the Senators and some of their fans playing the victim card for a change ... I suspect Game 2 will have a different tone to it ... I've been reading that a lot of Sens fans want Chris Neil in the lineup just as soon as they can get him in there ... he's getting on in years, but he's still a tough cookie ... he and Prust know each other well, I suppose ... Cheers.

Cheers. I would LOVE to see Chris Neil in the lineup. Our fourth line would eat him up, as would any other line for that matter. Neil's great attribute was that he was a fighter that could play... he can no longer play and nobody is going to fight him in the playoffs. He doesn't have the speed to keep up anymore. So he's not going to catch anybody with a big hit, and if he wants to get into scrums after the whistle then so be it. Let him take a few penalties while he's at it. They'd be playing almost short-handed every time he is on the ice. I am pleasantly surprised that Subban was not suspended.
