Here is an update on the stats of all prospects playing in NA, but not currently on the Hamilton roster, as of February 20th:

ECHL - Long Beach

Cory Urquhart C/LW- 43gp 13g 8a 21pts 10pim +8 (first pro season)

Christian Larrivee LW- 33gp 5g 7a 12pts 10pim +4 (unlikely to match 33pts in 72gp with Columbus in ECHL last season)

Matt Shasby D- 19gp 2g 8a 10pts 10pim +9 (had 28pts in 66gp in ECHL last season)

Olivier Michaud G- 27gp 14W 12L (incl. 2 shoot out losses) 2.45 gaa 0.924 sv%

OHL - Peterborough Petes

Mark Flood D- 49gp 2g 31a 33pts 10pim +8 (creeping up on career totals from last year of 44pts in 68gp, although he is well off 15 goals from last year)

Greg Stewart RW- 57gp 13g 17a 30pts 97pim +1 (tripled career total points of 10 in 58gp in last year's rookie season in OHL)

QMJHL - Baie-Comeau Drakkar

Alexandre Dulac-Lemelin D- 53gp 7g 14a 21pts 48pim -18 (new career totals compared to 13pts in 67 games in his rookie season last year, 27th in Q scoring for a Dman, pretty good for a 9th rounder)

Loic Lacasse G- 36gp 9W 20L 2T 4.06 gaa 0.884 sv%

PEI Rocket

Maxim Lapierre C- 57gp 19g 26a 45pts 122pim -12 (had career high 61pts in 67gp last season on a strong team with Lambert and Urquhart)

Jimmy Bonneau LW- 57gp 9g 9a 18pts 203pim -5 (ready to surpass last season's 19pts in 70gp)

Rimouski Oceanic

Danny Stewart LW- 60gp 20g 23a 43pts 52pim -2 (well off the pace of 67 pts in 69 games last season, and how exactly do you get a -2 +/- on this good a team this season?)

Lewiston MAINEiacs

Jaroslav Halak G- 37gp 20W 13L 3T 2.90gaa .908 sv%

WHL - Prince Albert Raiders

Kyle Chipchura C- still recovering from achillis tendon injury (had 32pts in 28 games this season and was on pace to shatter his last season's 48pts in 64gp)

NCAA - ECACHL - Cornell Big Red

Ryan O'Byrne D- 25gp 2g 5a 7pts (was injured this weekend - no word on how serious)

Jon Gleed D- 22gp 1g 2a 3pts

ECACHL - Dartmouth Big Green

JT Wyman RW- 25gp 3g 4a 7pts (this freshman is starting to get more success on the scoresheet after a big adjustment from high school hockey last season)

He has a long way to go before he reaches respectability. Let's hope he can get there.

The last weekend in regular season ECACHL play was good for our NCAA prospects, as they all hit the scoreboard. Ryan O'Byrne had an assist Friday night and followed up with two helpers last night in Cornell's second of two wins. That is 5 points in Ryan's last four games (he missed two last weekend with an inury). Jon Gleed also had one assist last night. JT Wyman had two goals last night in Dartmouth's big 6-2 win.

Cornell won both its games this weekend to advance to the next round of playoffs. Jon Gleed had one assist in Friday night's game. Dartmouth split its games so has to play the rubber match tonight. JT Wyman netted an assist in Friday night's game. Good to see our 3 NCAA prospects getting good playoff experience.

A few of our guys are still playing in the CHL playoffs. Here are their stats to date:

Kyle Chipchura (Prince Albert) - 4gp 1g 3a 4pts +1 11pim - Great comeback from a long injury, and he is just getting better. Third star with an assist in his second last game in a 2-1 loss, and a three point night and 2nd star last night in a big 7-2 win. Amazing. Heck, he even dropped the gloves last night. PA is down 2-1 against the Hat in the 2nd round, but they are coming back.

Mark Flood (Peterborough) - 9gp 2g 6a 8pts +2 0pim - Captain Mark having a good playoffs so far. Petes are in control 3-1 against Toronto St Mikes in their 2nd round series.

Greg Stewart (Peterborough) - 9gp 3g 2a 5pts -1 12pim - This guy had 4g and 10pts in 58 games last season. He tripled that this season and already has 5 playoff points. Great late rounder who is just getting better.

Danny Stewart (Rimouski) - 3gp 4g 1a 5pts +1 2pim - The other Stewart is playing for a contract it would appear, as he is on fire this playoffs after a pretty ordinary regular season. Heck, he had three more points than Sidney Crosby last night when he netted two goals and ended up first star as the incredible Rimouski team took a commanding 3-0 lead against Lewiston.

Jaroslav Halak (Lewiston) - 7gp 4W 3L 3.14gaa 0.911sv% - Jaroslav was leading the Q playoff goalies after a superb first series, and then he and his team-mates came up against the rested Rimouski team who came in on a 28 game unbeaten streak. OUCH. That is now a 31 game unbeaten streak as they have a 3-0 lead on the MAINEiacs.

Alexandre Dulac-Lemelin (Baie-Comeau) - 6gp 0g 2a 2pts -2 15pim - BC is now out of the playoffs after a 4-2 series loss to Chicoutimi in the first series.

Loic Lacasse (Baie-Comeau) - 2gp 0W 1L 2.21gaa 0.931 - Not bad numbers in a losing cause for a goalie who had a second half of the regular season to forget.

Update from tonight's games (Apr 13).

Chipchura held pointless, but PA prevails 2-1 against the Hat to tie up their series at 2.

Rimouski smokes Lewiston as Danny Stewart held pointless in a winning cause, and Halak takes the loss after facing 44 shots in 40 minutes. Halak and his team-mates sent packing by the impressive Rimouski team (32 straight unbeaten by my count).

Mark Flood and Greg Stewart and their Petes moved onto the next round of the OHL playoffs with a big 3-2 OT win against Toronto St Mikes. They fired 69 shots on net and although neither prospect ended up with any points, Mark was +2 and Greg was +1 on the night.

Last night, the PA Raiders won a marathon in OT 2-1 and Chipper chipped in with the game tying goal in the 2nd. 5th point in 6 playoff games after coming back from a serious and long injury, so pretty good for an "offensively challenged" forward. PA now up 3-2 in the series.

PA wins tonight 3-0 behind Rejean Beauchemin's solid goaltending, as they erase a 2-0 series deficit and come back to take the series 4-2. Chipchura contributes again getting an assist on the first, and game winning, goal.

Our last CHL prospect playing, Danny Stewart from Rimouski, had a big night as he had two goals and three assists and was the first star in a big 9-4 victory over Halifax tonight in game one of the Q final.
