Another outstanding GDT, Dis! I must concur CH. Being in my 50's I really appreciated the nostalgia Rick has brought to the GDTs. I takes me back to a time when winning a Stanley Cup, not just making the playoffs, was expected every year. Thanks for putting the time in Rick.

I expect the Habs to come out like gangbusters and if they score a couple of quick ones they should be OK.
I want DSP to crush their D men because you know Callahan is going to go after our D men. I also want Emelin and Pateryn to nail Johnson anytime he crosses the blue line.

In many ways I will be watching the Lightning more closely than the Habs. After dominating us 5 times during the regular season, coming at us in waves, getting easy access to the offensive zone, getting 35-40 shots on goal.... will tonight be any different? After watching the tape of the 5 games and watching the tape of the Detroit series, will Therrien show that he can adjust and game plan differently for this opponent? If it's simply more of the same then I will have to assume that either Therrien has no idea how to play these guys or he does but just doesn't want to do anything different. Good coaches make adjustments when necessary. The Wings did something in that series to limit Tampa's high octance offense and they very nearly got away with it. But then Mike Babcock is a really bright guy.....

In yesterday morning's practice, Eller took Galchy spot on the PP. I wonder if MT will have Larry park himself in front of Bishop instead of aGal.

Babcock has given Therrien the blueprint in which to contain the Bolts and with Carey in nets it could be a recipe for success. whether MT chooses to copy what the Wings did is anybody's guess.

Yesterday at practice (so I heard on Marinaro's show), Therrien was practicing the PP, breakouts, and entering the zone with possession instead of dump-and-try-to-retrieve.
So maybe…..

The D pairings in PP practice were Petry-Subban and Markov-Emelin. That second pairing could be interesting, but it sure could not keep up with a Tampa shorthanded breakout.

If beau wasn't injured he'd replace emelin. The thing about emelin is he has a very good shot. .. about 18 inches off the ice and on net

The pre-game Cherry session was his best ever. The crowd was so loud I couldn't hear a word he said. That was the most intelligent I've heard him in over a decade.

What do you think of the Montreal Canadiens?
Hughson: what a start by Ben Bishop.
Lol.

I don't know guys ... On our PP, the first unit was QBed by Petry. And it was pretty darn good.
The second unit was QBed by Subban, and it did nothing.
I really don't agree with a 2 min shift for him just to blast it
