FIFA has been a joke for a long time. Hopefully some of these guys, especially Blatter, will end up in jail, but that's highly doubtful. Money always seems to win out.
Qatar winning the venue race for the World Cup. Really? A scorchingly hot, dry country with no soccer reputation gets chosen to host the Tournament. Gee that makes a lot of sense. I'm sure they won it fair and square. And Russia winning the next one. I wouldn't give Putin the time of day, much less the right to host the World Cup.

Most of the world's money seems to be in the Middle East ... Qatar has the richest per capita in the world ... they've got the bucks and they're spreading it around ... Tzar Putin's economy is also based on oil and money obviously isn't an issue, and he doesn't mind spending it ... will be interesting to see if they eventually lay charges outside of FIFA ... I suspect someone that the US Dept. of Justice scooped up on the first go-around, is making a deal and Blatter is squarely in the bulls-eye. Watching him this last week -"I am the president of everything!" - doesn't make me think he responds to anything but a gun pointed at his head. Ergo, there's a gun somewhere that has 'encouraged' him to resign.
