According to TSN. 2 year deal, one way contract. I think this kicks in after 2015/16. $575 this coming year, then $750K and $850K. Very cheap for a solid 5-6 dman.

One way, so he can't be sent down without clearing waivers? That's 7 dmen under contract so it will be interesting to see what they do with Tinordi. Will they carry 8 dmen on the roster? Is there a deal coming involving, hopefully, Emelin?

I agree, just curious to see how Berg breaks the logjam. I wouldn't be shocked to see Gilbert moved as I think Pateryn gives you better value on the 3rd pair.

I don't know guys ... I thought it was an extremely good deal ... IMO, he's played a lot better than a bottom-pairing guy and my fear is that Greg Pateryn will be a 2nd-pairing d-man elsewhere ...
Cheers.

Cheers. Agreed...I thought it was a good deal as well. He showed last year that he's ready to be with the Habs full time.

So the Habs now have him under contract for the next three years at a very low cost. Good signing.
