There is an interesting Habs connection here, as the Habs originally had the 25th spot in the first round of the 2008 draft. They traded the pick to Calgary when the team acquired Alex Tanguay. You never like losing a first round pick (I did not then), but not all first rounders end up with long and successful NHL careers. Wonder who TT would have picked. The Habs have been struck out with the 2008 draft as it did not generate one NHL game for the team with the Habs picks (although both Tokarski and Pateryn, 5th rounders that year, play for the club after being acquired in trades). Pateryn was an interesting trade as it happened right after the draft, so TT clearly wanted this guy but missed out on him during the draft itself. oshawagenerals.com/article/greg-nemisz-added-to-oshawa-generals-coaching-staff

You never like losing a first round pick (I did not then) I hated it too, but that may be because I rode out to the ?Corel? Centre to see the draft only to hear the announcement . . . I heard Buttman say "Hey, franko, you wasted your time", but I think I'm the only one that heard that. I might have been tempted to go all Bon Cop Bad Cop on him if I were that type of person . . . because it was Buttman's fault that I wasted my time, wasn't it? and even if it wasn't, it was.
