It took overtime, but Yanis stoned 4 shooutout tries and Kostitsyn and Sanford (yes, that Sanford, the d-man) scored in the first 3 tries, salting the victory. Dogs rambled 52-33 shots on goal, so it appears they more than earned the win. Nice to see Jarvis acknowledge AK as one of his 'goalscorers' by putting him in the pressure situation. The Rats are a decent team, and its always nice to beat a Jersey farm team. I think these guys are going to do it (make the playoffs). When they do, lookout. They are a different team with Komi and Begin and an improving AK (not to mention Higgins who is becoming more dominating) slam.canoe.ca/SlamScoreboard/ahl-frameset.html

Only 1 point behind Edmonton for a playoff spot.

Saw some highlights on TSN. Kosty's SO goal was an incredible wrister that the goalie had no time to react. Great shot. Sandford made a great deke to his backhand and roofed a backhander over the stretched goalie. Great picks in the SO by Jarvis, as someone on HF figured that Sandford is now 3 for 3 in shootouts. Small for a Dman, but getting the job done in SO's.
Lots of other guys chipping in now on the offence, as it seems to be much more spread around than earlier in the season, where it was all Pleky. After all, Thinel tied it late in the third for his first goal since December.
The Tim Horton's Brier continues as does the Edmonton road trip from H-E-double-hockey-sticks, so this is the time to make up some ground. Only one point back and another head to head matchup on Sunday. Great stuff!!

Talk about brutal! 4 games in 5 nights, counting last night's. There's gonna be some bone-weary Dogs come Sunday evening. Just hope they can keep on the scent and retrieve as many points as possible.
