Canadiens Site: Jim RobertsA warrior. Pest. Shadow. Played defence and wing. Cup winner with the Habs in 1965, 1966, 1973, 1976, 1977. Between stints in Montreal, he played with St. Louis under Scotty Bowman. When Bowman came to Montreal....he was quick to get Pollock to trade for Roberts. St. Louis got Phil Roberto. The Habs' website above is in error when it says Bowman took over Montreal in 1976. It was 1971-72.

I remember him as the little engine that could. He was Grade A filler in a lineup of legends. Never flashy, always reliable and hard working.
RIP

A part of perhaps the best checking line in the history of hockey...Roberts, Jarvis and Gainey. A hard working, dependable player who could chip in the odd goal. RIP.
