Flyers are retaining half of the salaries owed Schenn and Lecavalier. Schenn is in the last year of his deal at $3.6 million. Lecavalier has 2 years after this at $4.5 million, and he is apparently retiring at the end of the year. www.tsn.ca/flyers-send-lecavalier-schenn-to-kings-1.419075Kings have less than $700k in space now. Flyers have created a pretty healthy amount of space with the deal. Strange one from the Kings pov.

Remember the hype around Schenn when Fletcher traded up to get him at #5 overall & the Leafs put him in the lineup at 18. If Fletcher was thinking straight he would of picked Erik Karlsson.

I agree. The deal looks to be about getting Schenn to replace Greene. Flyers said, 'take Vinnie too?" Lombardi comes back with, "only if he retires at the end of the year."
