8 years and $80 million. It's front loaded, and there are two very large bonus cheques in the first two years. There's also a NMC in the first 4 years.

The two $9 million bonus cheques do not count against the cap, so he's getting $98 million over the next 8 years.

It has to skirt the CBA big time. I thought there were limits on the amount the bonus could be, but perhaps not. It's almost 20% of the total value of the contract. Without the bonuses, the first year pays twice as much as the last.
I agree that the league will look at this and likely try and change it next negotiations. I also agree that this contract is the bench mark for Stamkos.
