Just another headstone in MT's player graveyard. I am just shocked how many players brought in or kids coming up getting so mismanaged that the Berg eventually has to sell them for pennies on the dollar. Mistake equates less ice time or benching is no way to develop and manage your roster. And don't even get me going on the inequities between the "chosen few" and the rest. Knuckles has been heard on the radio this week ripping into the lack of coaching he is witnessing, even at practice. After Berg's presser, I expected a bit of a kick in the butt reaction from the coaches...but, did not seem to happen. I've been listening on most days the past couple of weeks. On the day of Bergevin's presser, TSN690 was LIVE at Brassard--their practice facility. Knuckles was watching some 3-on-2 drills..and on each rush ( It had to be 10 in a row, he said) the third man would drop back instead of going to the net....and none of them scored. More than a few times since, Nilan has brought that drill up...asking why wasn't it stopped and corrected? MT is a jacques lemaire disciple... would you not expect the third guy to stay back to play defensively?

Hockey 101 ... heard this broadcast, too ... not one converted 3-on-2 ... as Willie pointed out, this is the Jacques Martin School of Hockey ... don't play to win, play not to lose ... yeah, Nilan has been giving Therrien the gears of late ... maybe MT thinks he's an innovator ... dunno ... Cheers.

They should also practice 2-on-1s ... they do that wrong time and time again. You learn in pee-wee to pass the puck early to get the defenseman to commit. But Montreal insists time and time again to have the puck carrier hang on to it until the last possible moment and the defenseman just stays in the middle and it gets stopped easily ...
