I tried translating this but I'm not very good at correcting Google ... Carey Price isn't doing as well as everyone would like ... the article is in French and here's the link ... Cheers.

At least now we know it's the right leg. The secret is out. It's been what - 10 weeks or so? And he is still skating gingerly across the ice all by himself. I don't understand the secrecy and every time there is a setback & the timeline changes they look foolish. I would have a lot more confidence & respect for the management team if they just treated their fans like adults & told us what is wrong.

Suffice to say he's done for the year, along with our season. If surgery might be needed anyway, he should consider it.

If that's the case it should have been done months ago. That would have confirmed that his season was over, and perhaps it may not have even been necessary. Just speculating, since the team has been hush-hush about the whole thing. I very much doubt he will be back this year.

TSN has the same story. Says he is favoring his right leg & at also broke his stick before leaving the ice.

Right leg, huh? Chronic remnants of Kreider's bush-league take-out slide? I know Price played an entire season afterwards and won all those trophies…but that could've very easily been the start of it all….. Price immediately grabs his right knee with his blocker and catching glove…. News bulletin for Bergevin and Therrien: Carey Price's nickname is NOT "Mulligan"….. They have epically failed this franchise by putting all their eggs in one basket….not that we didn't know that before this thread….

In Eliot Friedman's 30 thoughts, he says that if Price was a defenseman or forward he'd be playing ... His leg only hurts during goalie movements. He also said that Price went to New York to get a second opinion because he wanted to confirm the Canadiens doctors prognosis that the leg will heal without surgery.

Price's injury hasn't explained Bergevin dealing only in Bottom 6 territory.
Price's injury hasn't explain Therrien's coaching strategies/decisions or lack thereof.
Price's injury has exposed what he's been masking for 3+ seasons....
No mulligans.....no way!

If that's the case it should have been done months ago. He got the endorsement from two sports doctors that he wouldn't need surgery ... I can see how that unfolded now ... why not trust the professionals ... sigh ... Cheers.

Judging from the video they just showed on Sportsnet, he wouldn't be back as a forward or a defenseman either. He can't even crossover without labouring.

I just heard Mitch Melnick say that when Kreider took out Price, either he or someone he knows, was in the pressbox...and (paraphrased, but the gist) "looked back at Glen Sather, sitting there with his unlit cigar...and a big smirk on his face....looking back at the rest of the Rangers' brass. I don't know if it was planned or not....Dan Lacroix might know.....but the Rangers certainly had a much better chance of making the Finals without Price in the net."
No kidding.
Kreider gave our Samson a haircut that perhaps keeps on giving....
It's the same knee....

This reminds me of the NBA draft a few years ago when the Raptors choose a player (Bruno Caboclo) and the announcers were saying this kid is "2 years away from being 2 years away." I feel this way when the Habs brass tells us he is only 10 weeks away back in November, and a gain a few weeks ago.

STEP 1 in Operation Tank complete

STEP 1 in Operation Tank complete If you want to see how tanking is supposed to work just look at the Leafs ... they're dead-last in the league right now and they've purged their lineup ... and, at least from the Leaf fans I've talked to, the fan base is okay with it ... I think that's the difference, there ... if the fans are okay with it then it's easier to implement Operation Tank ... however, unlike Toronto, the problem in Montreal is that they have several core pieces and I can't see the majority of fans supporting a tank ... that's the way I see it, anyway ... Cheers.

I think at this point, Dis, it'd be better to trade off current roster players who aren't going to contribute to any future success down the line. I imagine there will be some interested parties in Plekanec come the trade deadline.

Not sure, many Montreal fans would say the same thing this year. Hindsight being 20/20, if we had not gone on this 3 game winning streak we'd be 5 points from the basement, sitting in the 6th position (at the draft), and teams around us with games in hand. But we went in the other direction and sooo ... we are 3 points out of a playoff position, currently holding the 13th selection, and teams above us all have games in hand, so realistically we are about 6 points out of a playoff position. I don't have a crystal ball, but I fear Bergevin doing something stupid. I'm all for making the playoffs, if we make them, but if we just miss them, what a waste of an opportunity. It may now be too late to tank, even with Price in all likelihood gone for the year. What a mess of a season

Why didn't they just be honest from the start. I can't believe they didn't know how serious this was yet they kept stringing everyone along for months. They gave people hope for the season when they knew all along he wasn't coming back. Maybe they felt that if word got out that Price was done for the season then the fans would give up & stop going to the games. From top to bottom they have been dishonest & right now I don't believe anything I hear from them. The next thing I am likely to hear is Bergevin, on March 1, explaining that he didn't do anything because it's so hard to make trades in the NHL.

It's all about marketing of hope... hope Carey will be back, selling beers and coke and hot dogs... If they came out right away and said he's gone for the season, how many empty seats would there be... even if they are sold the optics are bad. I am beginning to believe the Montreal Canadiens are all about the money now... and it saddens me.
