Dogs have won 17 of their last 26 games.
Last season, with a balanced roster of vets and greenhorns, they finsihed 41-25-10-4, 96 pts.
This season, largely with a pack of puppies, they stand at 36-28-7-6, 85 pts with 3 games left to play.
FIRE JARVIS NOW!

Looks like Jarvis is behind the bench again. Boom Boom Begin and Thinel score in the first to give the Dogs a 2-0 lead after one.

The Bullwinkles get one back, but Dogs still up 3-1 after 40. Keep it up boys, keep this run going. In the second intermission Derek Wills and the Other Guy are giving credit to the effective system that Coach Jarvis and Coach Wilson employ...guess they aren't getting fired today.

Shameless, absolutely shameless. Obviously not connoisseurs of the development league game. Seems that we must suffer under Jarvis's ill-considered stewardship of the 'Dogs. So be it.

Pleky rips one through the net meshing, but the ref didn't see it, so doesn't count. Dogs kill off a big 5 on 3 PK and then bounce back with a PP of their own and Komo gets his first of the season. Dogs in control right now 4-1 in the third.

Game is over, 4-1 for the Dogs. Their magic number is now just 1 with two games to go, and 4 for Syracuse. Their next game is on Wednesday back home against the Crunchies, so they can wrap up their post-season spot with a point in that game. Ho Hum.

slam.canoe.ca/SlamScoreboard/ahl-frameset.htmlTsk, tsk. I'll start giving Jarvis more credit when he turns Kosty into a 50 goal scorer before the kid turns 35. Their winning streak coincided with more talent on the team, and especially a better D. Some of us were complaining about that for quite some time, without dumping on Jarvis for the losing record. Obviously he can get his team playing a good defensive system and that's good. Next step is to actually develop his scorers into scorers. Pleks is there after 3 years, Higgins after two. Decent time frames, but IMO, AK is behind schedule. I expected him to pick it up in the 2nd half. He has, but the numbers haven't been there like they were with Perezhogin (though I'll admit, Perezhogin was a year older).

Kostitsyn is 19. He had more to learn in terms of over all play than Perezhogin. He has, as has been asked of him, been focusing on bringing his defensive game up to snuff. This is good; it shows that he wants to improve his game and that he is coachable. His wrists and hands won't fall off. He won't forget how to play keep-away with the puck, or when the perfect time is to pass to a team-mate, or when to burst out of his zone for a breakaway pass, etc.
He'll be just fine. In fact he'll make some other teams rue the day they didn't select him in the top 10. Just ask BC.
