The Toronto Maple Leafs have traded defenceman Roman Polak and forward Nick Spaling to the San Jose Sharks for two second-round draft picks and forward Raffi Torres.
The second round selections are for the 2017 and 2018 Entry Drafts.

Torres was on waivers recently. Will this goof actually suit up for the Leafs?
I think two 2nds is a lot for a UFA to be. Surprised they got that much.
Polak is 29 with a cap hit of 3.1 million. I would have thought one 2nd rounder.

I would have thought one 2nd rounder. Torres already assigned to some AHL team (not the Marlies). Two seconds for Polak is a very good haul for the Leafs. Lots of talented prospects developing, and a ton of draft picks. They still have a ton of roster to fill next year though. Come on Marc, start selling buddy. |

Hmmm, with that return, wonder what Gilbert would get. No word on whether he is healthy enough to trade. Been quite the cone of silence (what a surprise) on that front. He did not participate in the open fan practice yesterday.
Get healthy Tom, otherwise we lose you for nada.
