Trying to find out the cap hit. I'm surprised by this. They've got some RFA's to worry about. Disappointed too, as he was a target of mine for the July 1.

Lebrun and McKenzie are saying the hit is $3.7 million a year. That's an 800k pay cut. I'm shocked. He'd have gotten $5 million on the open market easily.

one heck of a home town discount. money for Stamkos? IMO, a discount would have been signing for the same number as the last deal, but this is huge. The player gets a full NTC that starts now and goes through the first two years of the new deal. The last year as a limited ntc. |

Turns 31 tomorrow, just entering that age when production spirals downward. I like it. I just wish they had done it for 5 or 6 years instead of 3.
