Interesting development last Tuesday morning ... I stopped into the local diner for some breakfast before heading into work ... I was there from 7 AM to 7:20-ish and during that time I had my car vandalized ... they smashed my rear door window and to take my bowling bag ... they got away with the bag and it's contents (shoes/ball/towel) and a fleece that was on the back seat ... however, they left my friend's bag alone and that was right beside mine on the seat ... made the calls to the police and the insurance companies ... had my window replaced yesterday morning ... however, last night we get a phone call ... the thief had ditched his booty in someone's backyard and after finding nothing he could use he just left it there ... the lady who called me got my name from a registration card in the bag ... she Googled my name and made a call hoping it was me who owned the bag ... so, Mrs Dis and I went into town and picked up my items ... kind of mixed feelings on how easy it was for her to find me (bowling registration card and then Googled my name) ... but at the same time it reaffirmed to me that there are a lot more good people out there than there are the sacks of skin who vandalized my car ... there good people doing good things every day ... don't forget that, folks ...
Cheers.

Sorry, Dis…but your ball didn't fit my hand! (Couldn't resist….hope it's not "too soon". ) I can empathize….our house was broken into about 15 years ago, and I still remember that feeling. A mix of mistrust, anger, and revenge…wrapped in an ultra-protective coating…basic survival instinct. Glad it all worked out and that nobody was hurt.

That's pretty nervy - to break into your car in a parking lot at 7AM.
Glad you got your things returned.

I had the pleasure about five years ago. Ended up taking about $300 worth of army stuff, passport, $50 USD, and my car registration. It could of been worse if they checked my trunk though and taken my jacket and sunglasses. It is definitely a hassle reporting it though and was glad that my unit had a copy of my passport number so I could file it with Passport Canada. (Note to everyone, write that number down because if it goes missing or stolen you need to provide it when you report it as missing/stolen) The only thing that really bothers me is that it happened the day of my daughters birthday so it's not exactly a date that you can forget about.

I pounded out an email to one of the local radio stations here in town yesterday morning and they ended up reading it over the air ... I didn't hear it because I don't have a radio at work but I was saying the same things ... there are a lot more good people out there than there are the sacks of skin who feel the rules don't apply to them ... there used be 9 penitentiaries in the Kingston area and, as such, there's quite a few former cons who end up staying in the area after release ... I know of one and he's a pretty good guy ... the diner I was at is in a rough part of town and we'd been going there for years ... found out the hard way that this is pretty common in that area ... anyway, it was a pretty kind gesture and it took some effort to find me ... stuff like this tends to have a ripple effect ... makes for good karma ... I had a pretty good day today ...
Cheers.
