I'd be surprised. he may move up a notch but he still isn't at the top of the list. for some reason Crawford is being mentioned . . . and that he is actively campaigning for the position.

I hadn't realized until I read the article that Claude Julien is the most-successful coach in Bruins history ... I suspect if the Bruins had a cataclysmic collapse or the worst-collapse-in-team-history, then things might be a tad different ... but, they were close to the dance again this year, so I can see why Don Sweeney would bring him back ... he's not a bad coach and they did better than I thought they would after that start they had at the beginning of the year ...
Cheers.

I guess the "It's on me" fever is catching because usually GMs don't stick up for the guy they didn't hire and Julien is not Sweeney's guy.

Definitely a lot of mixed comments on hf. 50/50 I'd say. After two late season meltdowns, the nays want him gone. 4 guys with 60 points or more, 3 with 30 goals or more. Five more guys with 13-17 goals. IMO, it's their blue line that let them down. Chara is old and slow. Krug is small. Skilled, but small. After them, you're looking at the Millers, Seidenberg, McQuaid, and filler. They scored 236 goals this year. That's just shy of 3 per game, which is good sadly. They gave up 226, which is middle of the road.
Maybe they rely too much on Bergeron, Krejci, Marchand and Ericsson. I don't watch their games to know if they were burnt out down the stretch.
They actually had one more win than the Wings (42), but the loser points got the Wings in (11). If ever there was an argument for removing the loser point ... only in NHL would you have a scenario where two teams in the same division are vying for the last playoff spot and the one with fewer wins gets in because of OTL points.

Between Chiarelli & Sweeney they have traded away Boychuk & Hamilton in successive seasons without really adding quality.

Everyone knew he wasn't going to re-sign and that drove his value way down.

Was flipping between all three games last night....
Elliott was also very sharp vs. Chicago....
Crawford had one of those unlucky bounces off his dman's skate sneak through the pads in OT....otherwise, he was perfect as well.
