...The host nation, Austria, endured a disaster Monday by losing a 5-0 decision to Belarus. Not only did that showing bitterly disappoint the home fans, but it also left Austria staring the relegation round right in the face. Belarus dominated the game from the opening faceoff and Mikhail Grabovsky was the unquestioned star. Grabovsky, a fifth-round pick of the Montreal Canadians in the 2004 Entry Draft, had four goals for the Belorussians. Goalie Andrei Mezin made 29 saves to pitch the shutout. Mezin has now stopped 79 of 80 (.987 save percentage) shots he has faced in this tournament.... ...Three Stars 1. Mikhail Grabovsky, Belarus — Grabovsky, a recent Montreal Canadiens' draft pick who plays his club hockey in Russia, turned in the most dominant performance so far in these championships. It was so good, in fact, that it overshadowed the three-assist performance by linemate Konstantin Koltsov. Three of Grabovsky's goals came during man-advantage play. Four goals, 10 shots, plus-1. - msn.foxsports.com/nhl/story/3587190

Hope not. They are up against a team that did much better in the regular season. They were stayin alive with a goal in overtime at home. Chips diodn't have a great game, but this is his chance to make up for a disappointing (half empty) injury hurt season. he's back now (half full) and the team is much stronger with his strength and leadership.

Oops...... This is about Grabovsky, not Chipchura. Grabovsky scored four goals (half full) on ten shots. That means he missed six shots (more than half empty).

"I think Grabovsky played great. The shot he made on the second goal was a great shot. I like his defensive play. He was in great position all night, which allowed him to attack. We always say in the National Hockey League, when your best players are better than the other team's best players, you normally win, and that tonight was the case." -— Belarus coach Glen Hanlon talking about the four-goal night by his star, Mikhail Grabovsky. - msn.foxsports.com/nhl/story/3587190

in two games that i have seen (against Russia and Slovakia), Grabovsky played much better than Kostitsyn. he was more active, more agressive and showed more desire. it must be said though that he gets more ice time and he has better linemates (Skabelka/Tsyplakov and Koltsov) than Andrei. in any case I'm more than pleasently surprised after seing him play. oh, and it looked like he played center on his line and took all faceoffs btw, I was at the deciding game for the U-18 Division I championship between the hosts Slovenia and Belarus about a month ago. Siarhei, brother of Andrei, had his name on the shirt spelled KASTSITSYN. in Austria, Andrei has KOSTITSYN written on the back of his shirt R.

FWIW, a Russian poster on another board said that Grabovsky won 70+% of faceoffs during the RSL regular season. Very quick hands, it seems. I may be mistaken, but I think Siarhei is Sergei in Belorussian (just to add to the fun).
