Here is a list of the more notable UFAs for this year ... there are a few on the list maybe Marc Bergevin should consider ... Cheers.

For Montreal the window is open and it will not last forever. Logic says GM should act aggressively and there are two or three wings that make sense potentially. Eriksson is good two-way player who profile to have good chemistry with Plekanec or Galchenyuk. Okposo contributes size and 20-25 goals. Ladd is quality too, though played a lot of intense hockey for a long time so I have doubt about his body holding up on the back half of a rich six year deal.
Signing club's draft picks showing potential in Europe is normal and positive, but Bergevin owes it to the organisation to do more than say "well look we have Lehkonen, Reway, plus Andrighetto and Carr, not to mention Eller so we feel excited about the competition for the spots on the wing." Or, when the UFA dust settle, "We were involved, we made a couple of offers, but reality is a lot teams were involved and drove the market values beyond where we felt comfortable."
Sorry, this is season number five. Canadiens have an elite core that compare very favourably with league's strong teams. The secondary core is not numerous enough or good enough compared to best teams in league. UFA means adding a piece without subtracting a piece. Dump dead weight redundant centre whether Therrien likes it or not, do what it takes to upgrade secondary core, make it happen.

No interest in Okposo. IMO, he's got serious consistency issues and when he isn't scoring he doesn't do much else. Ladd, for me, is a more expensive version of Brouwer.
