The AHL announced last Friday the winners of the 2004-05 James H. Ellery Awards, and the three recognized are all very worthy recipients. Congratulations to Derek Wills, the voice of the Hamilton Bulldogs for winning the radio award. The voice of the Hamilton Bulldogs since 2001, he has moved the team's radio presence from a small college station to 820 CHAM, the 50,000-watt home of Bulldogs games for the past three seasons. In 2004-05, Wills reached an agreement with The Team 990 to broadcast more than 70 games on the only all-sports radio station in Montreal, home city of the parent club Canadiens.
