It's my go-to. I find the layout friendlier than say nhlnumbers.com. None are capgeek, but I find this one comes close.

It's scary that with the team we have we are at the top with the least amount of cap space.

It's scary that with the team we have we are at the top with the least amount of cap space. It's a bit deceiving. There's a number of signed players that won't be there at the same time. With 15 forwards signed, at least 2 are going to be in St John's. A couple of those guys are on two-way contracts that will pay them their full salary regardless of where they are. I expect a couple may be waived. On defense, there are 8 signed showing up as NHL contracts, but Redmond can be demoted. He will be. One of Lindgren, Condon, or Montoya will be the back up. With Condon and Montoya on the summer roster, that's more money showing up. In the end, there's at least a couple of million dollars in actual space that will be reflected at the start of the season.

I noticed they lists terms like NTC beside the player's name. Didn't see anything beside Subban's name. Just an oversight?

www.capfriendly.com/players/pk-subbanIt says that Nashville 'didn't honour the ntc'. I'm not sure what that means. It sounds like a condition of the trade was that the clause is now void.

Maybe Subban was thinking, "whatever gets me out of town". He gives Nashville an honest try. If it doesn't work, he moves on.

Unless I am missing something here, if he agreed to waive the NMC then the whole June 30th deadline is meaningless. More time could have been taken to work on a trade without the pressure of a deadline.

I think I read somewhere that a NMC is only valid with the original team signing the contract. Once you are traded, it then becomes nul and void.

I noticed that Petry's NMC seems to be like Subban's deal - it kicks in 2 years after the contract starts. Why wouldn't a player want this protection from the beginning of the contract? Or is the team asking for a time period where they have the freedom to move a player without his say so?

Will be interesting to see if Jeff Petry is still in Montreal when that NMC kicks in ... he might be, who knows ... Marc Bergevin now has two years to develop some defensive talent to replace him with ... not saying this will play out, but there seems to be a method the Bergevin's madness when negotiating contracts ... Cheers.
