He claims it's all about wanting to play on the right side. He's been pushed to the left side because of Myers and Buff. He's without a contract atm.

Some at HF feel Trouba is the most overrated player on those boards. I, for one, think he showed elite play before the arrival of Myers and the resulting push to the left side. IMO, if he gets to move back to the right side, whoever gets him will get an excellent pmd. |

He'd be an upgrade on Beaulieu, but if you throw in Desharnais we might have to balance it off with Sergachev.  No thanks. BTW, I wouldn't trade Sergachev for Trouba even up, and I like Trouba. |

Echoing 17, he'd fall into the same trap here. Petry has a NMC/NTC. Realistically, the only way to take on Trouba would be to move Petry.

Nice enough d-man, big young at this stage second pair quality guy.
As others say, rumours should not involve Montreal given Habs existing personnel.
It would not surprise me to see Boston in the mix.

They could really use him. What would they have to give up? Knowledgeable Jets fans think return should include a LD. They're far thinner on that side. After Enstrom, it drops off pretty quick. It would likely depend on how much money the Jets are willing to take back. I can't see Boston offering Krug. It would be counter productive for them. A guy like Morrow wouldn't be enough. Off the current Boston roster, Pastrnak might be closest value. I'm not sure how he fits though. He can play either wing. Devils are pretty high on Severson, but a one for one there might work better than Boston as a trade partner. |

The Jets are getting really close to becoming a dominate team (building through the draft). I think If they traded him, they would want a top 2 guy that plays on the left side d.

They definitely want someone that can take some minutes from Enstrom. The only wrinkle could be Myers' health. He had two surgeries over the summer. There are some Jets fans that think he should be moved in favor of Trouba. |

I imagine Montreal kicked tires on him. They lost some mobility in Weber/Subban trade so chances are would be interested in a Trouba. Or a Fowler, Shattenkirk, etc... |
