Couldn't help but notice that Arturri Lehkonen looks like Calvin ... the only thing missing is the dinosaur lurking behind him ... oops, of course there is...how silly of me!

can't help but notice that only one of these guys isn't in a player's jersey . . . don't know if that means anything subconsciously or subliminally . . .

and wow! what a lot of work! thanks, Dis, for making the GDT look great. I concur... as usual an awesome GDT... Thanks Dis. I was surprised to see how close that Habs and Sabres are in the win loss record. I thought the Habs would far outnumber the Sabres in the win column.

Great work Dis.
Just an FYI, Price skipped practice today. He's got the flu.

Didn't realize the all time record was so close. Time to start to pull away!

I found a the original online but it had a watermark through it ...

Echoing the kudos, Dis!
The Sabres have always been a burr under the Habs' saddle, IMO.
Even in our dominant era, the French Connection was also in its prime, and played us very well....Perreault, Martin (RIP), and Robert no doubt extra-motivated!
1974-75: 4-0-1. Plus, knocking us out of the playoffs in 6 games, Round 3. I recall being a devastated 16-year-old. 1975-76: 2-3-0. 1976-77: 2-2-1. Representing 25% of our 8 losses. 1977-78: 3-2-0. 30% of our 10 losses.
That's an overall record of 11-7-2 against the best Habs' team ever assembled.
Including the playoff ousting: 15-9-2.
**We swept the Sabres in 1978-79 (4-0)...the final year of the French Connection, as Robert would go to Cherry's Rockies the next season.

love the (so far only) comment: season hasn't even started yet and they're calling for MT's head. not that I'm all that averse to it, but we've got to at least give him a shot with it. don't we?

love the (so far only) comment: Then there's this beauty: "So based on experience from last season if management says he will miss one game with flu does that mean he will really miss twenty games with bubonic plague?"

The situation is almost "too easy" to mock.
Welcome to the Habs Al, you get your first start. Guess either Lindgren or Fucale get the call as his backup until Price shakes that flu.
The IceCaps start their regular season this weekend with a three in three: Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Guess they might need an emergency back-up just in case unless they plan of flying the backup from Buffalo after the Habs game to Hartford assuming Carey will be good to go on Saturday in Kanata.

Shea Weber has that look like he wants to kill someone, love it. Let me know when he starts glaring at MT Carey being out may not be a bad thing. The sooner we realize we can't win without Carey the sooner we can recognize that MB and MT have done little to establish a winner, except rely on a great goalie left b the old regime. I've been pretty uncomfortable the last few weeks as even if we win our first 10 we will still be nervous after last year. No Carey no playoffs. So let's see from the get go how we do without Carey.

Can't tell you how the game will unfold, but I suspect the Sabres will come out flying ... it's the home-opener and we've Al Diego Montoya (thanks Skilly) between the pipes ... withstand the initial onslaught and play our game, and I think we'll be fine ... can't take Buffalo for granted ...
Cheers.

With Petry on the mend, it looks like the D pairings are as follows:
Beau-Weber Markov-Pateryn Emelin-Sergachev
Redmond extra
We are already down a starting goalie and top four defender before the puck has even dropped for the first time, albeit both short term issues. Buffalo will miss Okposo and that fall that Eichel took in practice looks really bad. He could be out for a bit.

Shea Weber has that look like he wants to kill someone, love it. But he has that look even when he's opening up Christmas presents with his kids. You wanna make a lot of money as a free lance photographer? Snap a pic of Weber smiling and you've hit gold.

Montoya's a decent back up. You don't want him playing 40 games, but for 20 he'll be fine. Especially when he doesn't have to face Okposo or Eichel against Buffalo. Eichel did something to his ankle today in practice and had to be helped off the ice. Okposo was already out for tomorrow.
Sam Reinhart will be the guy to watch, IMO.
