The Boston Celtics just signed $7 million per year agreement to put the GE logo on their jerseys starting next year. I think this is coming to an NHL team near you. It actually doesn't look that bad - the NBA mandates that the logo must be 2.5 inches, and it blends nicely with the uniform. I don't think the NHL can resist this for too long. League revenues aren't growing much after the new TV deals. If done tastefully, it can be OK. So who would be the best sponsor for the Habs? Chez Paree? www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-01-25/ge-deal-with-boston-celtics-said-to-be-over-7-million-a-year

I hate it. That GE logo may be fairly innocuous now, but it's a slippery slope all the way down to European hockey teams.
I think, if it makes its way to the NHL, it will appear first on smaller market, lower budget teams.

Thought of the European cereal box jerseys right away ... putting a patch on a jersey is one thing, but if it generates the coin they're looking for I can see European style jerseys in the future ...
Cheers.
