Calgary aquired defenseman Andrew Ference from Pittsburgh today for a conditional draft pick. Ference is said to be a good offensive d-man, although quite small very physical. Do you think he would be a good improvement on Traverse (isn't everyone)? or just another Bouillon which we already have?

Ference shoots left, and is 5'10" 196lbs. Short but strong... a dismal -16 this season and -12 last season but showed quite a lot of promise two seasons ago with 4 goals, 15 points in 36 games. he was also +6 that season. Any opinions whether or not Savard should have made a bid? I say only if the Penguins were willing to take Traverse or Dykhuis in return, but likely it was just a salary dump (not much of one) on their behalf.

Andrew was an outstanding junior as you would know Matt. Anytime I saw him play for the Pens he was not noticeable to me, this however may be a good thing. He is blessed with lots of talent, no doubt, so maybe a change of scene may help. Any Canucks buzz to report, I have already read one rumor about them concerning Brisebois. Note to PTH: ( Paul I hate to tell you this, it was on the RDS forum, shame on me.) ;D With this new forum we can let out all the good, the bad and the ugly as food for thought.

Any Canucks buzz to report, I have already read one rumor about them concerning Brisebois. I haven't read anything about Brisebois, but i do know that Sopel is not very high in the fans books lately, he's a player I'd be very interested in, despite his faults lately. Burke and the Nucks were said to have a deal with Columbus nearly finalized that would see Ray Whitney, Andrej Nedorost and a 4th Rounder going there way for Ryan Ready, Jarkko Ruutu, Todd Warriner, and a 3rd Rounder if i'm correct, but that seems to have fallen apart since Warriner was dealt to Philly last week for nothing to open a roster spot. A deal is eminent i think, but i'm not sure of how high magnitude it will be, Burke has said basically that. Chris Gratton is said to be high on Burke's list of who he wants. If nothing pans out then that roster spot will be filled by newly aquired Chris Herperger who's been playing very well for their farm team in Manitoba.

Naslund-Morrison-Bertuzzi Sedin-Sedin-NEW PICKUP Klatt-Lindgren-Linden Letowski-Chubarokv-Cooke

Yup - it's hard to know where to draw the line on trade rumours, which is why I like having a separate board for those among us who like to talk about 1001 trade possibilities from just about any source imaginable.
