Well that came out of left field didn't it?
Gagne, Pitkanen, Woywitka, Williams...I wonder who goes the other way?

I guess this deserves it's own thread... they only gave up a 2nd, a 3rd and a prospect(it can't be Pitkanen) www.tsn.ca/news_stories/32832.htmlwow the Flyers are now unbelivable lethal if Gags and Leclair can stay healthy I'd like to see the Laffs counter this: Amonte-Roenick-Recchi Leclair-Primeau-Kapanen Brash-Handzus-Somik Lapointe-Murray-the Fridge where does Gagne fit if healthy? and Williams next year...omg...

No word on what's going the other way. My bet is a 1st, a 2nd and Woywitka. A lot.

Yep, the Leafs, Sens and Flyers are girding for war in a big way. The playoff dance should be top-notch in the East this year. Just too bad we can't seem to crash the party.

wow..from TSN
The Phoenix Coyotes will receive Philadelphia Phantoms' forward Guillaume Lefebvre, Atlanta's third-round pick this year (previously acquired) and Philadelphia's second-round pick in 2004.
that is not a steep price at all..the 2nd in 04 is not as good as a 2nd in 03...Lefebvre is nothing...

If Amonte gets on track this will be a steal. Philly's loaded with picks, and Amonte can be a top flight forward. His contract isn't all that crazy either.

If the Laffs and Flyers meet up in the first round that's gonna be a lot of pay-roll and some huge names hitting the links early this year either way.
Wow, Clarke and Quinn have really upped the odds here, and one of them has to lose.
Here's to it being Quinn ;D

The Sens will hopefully chow down and barf up the remains for all to see.

Yes it has to be Quinn! Flyers have way more depth at forward(Gagne could be on their 3rd line ) and the D is probably just a bit better than the Laffs the key is in goal...Checkmanek vs Eddie the drunk...

Well guys, I think we know we'll wind up watching Philly and TO thrash it out in the 1st round, whether we like it or not !
At last it looks like it might be fun. Hate the Flyers, hate the Leafs way, way more...

There really isn't a precedent with which to compare Amonte's value. I don't ever recall a top-flight player being traded within nine months of signing as a UFA. Philly just had to say to Phoenix, "Look, you got him for nothing, and you want to get rid of him, we'll give you a couple of picks and a player. We're just not prepared to pay more; remember, we coulda had him for nothing ourselves last summer." Ever since the Jagr trade, players seem to get traded for less and less.

Can't see Philly winning with that goaltending.Laffs hold huge edge in the cage.Sad but true. HFTO I don't agree that Toronto has a big edge. Belfour is the oldest goalie in the league ( he'll be 38 by the time the playoffs start) and he plays a lot of minutes - even back to back games. He's coming back to earth. In the last 5 games he 1-3-1 with 21 goals allowed.

Yes Bel-FORE has been giving up ALOT of soft goals recently
I expect him to start coming down to earth
Laffs are in trouble if he does not steal anything
