Hitchcock was done at the end of the season anyway. Yeo is a somewhat interesting choice.

Doug Armstrong plagiarized Bergevin. "It's all on me", he said. Yet unlike Berg, he fires Hitchcock, who is a Hall of Fame coach. One of the two made a mistake. Armstrong has achieved nothing in his GM career. I always thought he was a guy who I would target for a trade. That team has consistently had a weakness in goal and we know you can't win anything with weak goaltending. It has to at least be average.
Which brings up another interesting thought regarding Jim Nill. His track record as a GM so far has been pretty good, except for his choice in goaltenders. He signed two weak guys, to long term deals. It will be interesting to see if he extricates himself and how. Both Lehtonen and Niemi are signed for one more season after this and combined they're using up $10.4MM in CAP space. Ouch. If I'm Vegas I don't pick either one.

To be fair, Hitch was leaving at the end of the season anyway. His contract was up and he wasn't going back.
The Blues announce that Brodeur and Conklin will split role as new goalie coach(es).
