It's widely known that Hitchcock won't be back in St Louis.
Announced today, Ruff won't be back in Dallas. His 4 year deal is set to expire and he won't be offered a new deal. Lindy's a good coach. They were never able to put together a team that could play a balanced game. Unlike his defensive Sabres teams, the Stars are run and gun. Management sinking so much money in two goalies the likes of Niemi and Lehtonen doesn't help either.
George McPhee has yet to hire a coach. You'd think he'd want that done before the Expansion Draft. The list of possibles is getting longer and longer. Likely more to come as the talking heads think a lot of guys will lose their jobs between now and July 1.

It'll be interesting if CJ makes any changes in the off season... I assume he decides if Lefebvre stays or goes... and does CJ want his own assistants?

I assume he'll evaluate his assistants and likely have input on things in Laval. (Loudly chants "Larry! Larry!"

Hallelujah Brother... that would be marvelous... Larry and Kirk behind the bench with CJ... If Kirk was fluently bilingual, I could see him taking over for Lefebvre but that won't happen .

Tom Rowe won't be back behind the bench in Florida. He's been 're-assigned' to the role of "Special Assistant to the GM". Oh, and Tallon has been given the GM title back. What a waste of a season in Florida.

Canucks fire Willie Desjardins. I'm surprised, he had easily one of the worst teams in the league but they were in most games due to really good work ethic and sound systems, I expect Willie will be coaching somewhere By Oct 1st.

I don't think there's a Canucks fan on hfboards that isn't happy with this. They're only complaint is that the firings didn't go all the way to the top. They want Benning and Linden gone too.

Scotty Bowman in his prime couldn't have made that lineup win. Dim Jim is to blame for icing a piss poor hockey team.

Scotty Bowman in his prime couldn't have made that lineup win. Dim Jim is to blame for icing a piss poor hockey team. I don't think they expected Eriksson to be as much of a disappointment as he was. They had no chance in trading the Sedins, even if the twins ok'd it. No one is taking both at this point. So, you have to try and maximize what you can get from them. They thought an all Swedish line would work. The Sedins like to cycle, and Loui can play that game. It's been a disaster though. 11 goals and 24 points in 65 games. Horvat is a vg young player. Tryamkin has gotten positive reviews for a young defender. I think Boeser and Horvat could be a real force for them going forward. Gudbranson has to find a way to stay healthy. Tanev and Tryamkin give them a couple of good D. Sbisa and Edler are still capable. I think they can manage on defense, but they don't have a strong puck mover with real offense in his game. They're painfully thin up front though. I don't know what they're going to do in net. Miller had pretty good numbers outside of wins and losses. He's a ufa. Backstrom is signed, but I don't think they want to go with him as a #1 unless it's a platoon scenario. They've got work to do.

Kings have dumped Sutter and Lombardi. Rob Blake named GM. Luc Robitaille name team President. Ouch. Feels like an overreaction... They've had some really good years, it's normal to have some issues shortly after a Cup...

Reading posts from Kings fans, most seemed to agree with Sutter going. They largely surprised by Lombardi and disappointed with move to Blake.
Blake's experience is strictly that of an assistant to Lombardi. They don't like the Robitaille hire much as he appears to be merely an appointment by AEG.

Sutter's a great coach, but he wears on the players very quickly. They tuned him out, time to go. Lombardi signed some bad contracts (Gaborik's was horrific. 7 years? I bet he gets bought out)

Montreal must of started a trend....Hitch back as coach in Dallas. That was quick. Is Bylsma about to be fired so the Sabers can rehire Ruff?

Montreal must of started a trend....Hitch back as coach in Dallas. That one really surprises me. I'm looking to see if someone grabs a guy like Travis Green. There was talk that Vancouver might promote their AHL coach. He's thought highly of in the hockey world. The revolving door of retreads is another example of how much the NHL likes to play it safe. Then there's Gerard Gallant. Unceremoniously dumped in Florida. Does Tallon bring him back? Do the Knights grab him? You have to think teams are talking to him. Gerard is likely the best not in the league right now.

Knights have grabbed Gallant as their first head coach. Good move.
