ASSETS: Has NHL size and strength. If used in a limited role, he could be an asset to a big-league team. FLAWS: Doesn't have enough talent to play a regular shift in the NHL. Is prone to making bad mistakes in his own end. CAREER POTENTIAL: Reserve defenseman. www.forecaster.ca/thestar/hockey/player.cgi?1739

Monday, October 21, 2002 Aitken is Norfolk's easy riderWritten by Pete MichaudOn a cool, spring morning in western Canada, with the majestic Rocky Mountains serving as the perfect backdrop, Johnathan Aitken maneuvers along twisting, turning roadways, enjoying the crisp Alberta air from the seat of his Harley Davidson. Such a ride is not unlike his work in pro hockey, where Aitken jockeys along crowded goal creases as a defenseman for the Norfolk Admirals, hoping his efforts will again send him along the expressway to the NHL. As someone who has tasted the fruits of the National Hockey League, only to have it slip away, Aitken has learned to always enjoy the ride, no matter where it may take him. As a highly touted teenage sensation out of Brandon (WHL), Johnathan Aitken was supposed to be the next big thing in Boston. As the eighth overall selection in the 1996 draft, some hoped Aitken would join a long list of great Bruins' blueliners like Bobby Orr and Ray Bourque. It never panned out. - www.theahl.com/AHLOnTheBeat02/1021.html

The experienced Dman for Hamilton it would appear. Good signing to complement Archer, Cote, the Edmonton guys and hopefully Andre Benoit. One less guy in the AHL that Ivanans will have to scrap with!! Hey, he likes Harleys, so can't be all bad.
