Just another example of a capable goaltender become available. Cost a 3rd rounder. MEh. Hawks weren't gonna keep him. He wasn't going to sign. He wants a chance to start. Good asset management. Canes give up a 3rd in a so-so draft for a guy who, at the very least, replaces Lack and might replace Ward. If they can agree on a contract, it's a good move for them. Darling has shown quite a bit when given a chance in Chicago.

Hurricanes announce they've signed Darling to 4 year deal for $16.6 million total. There's a limited NTC as well.
