I haven't heard anything about Hamilton's coaching vacancy but according to the AHL West section of the newest edition of The Hockey News Don LEver has been hired by Gob Gainey and the Habs to be the "development coach".

Edit: He is also listed as head coach on the Hamilton Bulldogs website:
