Cancer aside...what a life! He was James Freakin' Bond! BBCI knew him first as Simon Templar aka "The Saint"...

Certainly remember him from "The Saint" days ... liked his character, Sean Flynn, in "The Wild Geese" ... thanks for the memories ...
RIP ...

Yeah, he was more "the Saint" to me than he was Bond. I still see Sean Connery as the ultimate Bond. Cheeky enough, but deadly. Great run, Roger.

I'm a child of the 70s so Roger Moore was my James Bond. He played the role with more humor than Sean Connery, but the Bond flicks were always kind of light and far fetched, not meant to be taken that seriously, and Roger Moore was great for that role. I think they are on the right track with Daniel Craig, a bit darker, moodier, taking some inspiration from the Jason Bourne franchise. Anyway, RIP Roger. You will be remembered.

Yup, Daniel Craig is infinitely better than Remington Steele.
Time to track down some old episodes of the Saint and his Bond movies. A little trip down memory lane for the entertainment value I received as a young 'un from his craft.

Daniel Craig is the best James Bond I've seen ... the worst was the guy whose name I can't remember ... I'm on Roger Moore's page on IMDB.com and going through his film history ... he was in the industry for a very long time ... Cheers.

I thought Timothy Dalton was the worst. I don't consider the first "Casino Royale" a Bond movie, so David Niven is excluded.Pierce Brosnan was OK but he was given poor scripts, and those coupla years as Remington Steele took away something. I agree with Dis: Daniel Craig infused something into the character. Didn't like him to begin with -- too intense -- but now I like it. Connery runs second. Moore third. Scripts and special effects have changed the whole tenor of the series. As to Moore, I thought he did a passable job as Beau Maverick . . .

Both he and Dalton are at the bottom of my list, as well ... couldn't remember their names ... Daniel Craig is, by far, the most-ruthless, efficient Bond-James-Bond on the list ... enjoyed his movies a lot ... liked a few of Pierce Brosnan's storylines ..."I'm looking for a submarine ... it's big and black and the captain is a good friend of mine" ... Cheers.
