Toronto Star Article“He sees the game in a modern way and is eager to work with our young players,” Panthers general manager Dale Tallon said. “During the interview process, Bob blew us away with his preparation, his passion, knowledge and dedication to the game. We believe that he is the right leader to get our team back to competing towards our goal of winning the Stanley Cup.”From an earlier article, in which Tallon outlined the desired qualities.... “We’re looking for a creative guy, a contemporary guy that is a good communicator, a good teacher,” Tallon told Harvey Fialkov of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. “(Someone) that can handle the younger player today and that can understand that they still have to be coached and mentored and taught, yet still have that passion to win.”
Tallon is also on record saying he is looking for a younger coach after 60-year-old interim coach Tom Rowe failed to bond with the Panthers’ core of 20-somethings led by Aaron Ekblad, Aleksander Barkov, Jonathan Huberdeau, Vincent Trocheck and Michael Matheson. Why was Therrien even interviewed? Covering the bases, I suppose....

He'd interviewed at least once in Buffalo as well. He's definitely part of the next wave of younger coaches. I expect Rocky Thompson, who replaced him in Windsor, will get some looks.

Rocky was named the head coach of the AHL Chicago Wolves last week. Teams are pouncing on some of these good available coaches. In the meantime, we still hear rumours of Lefebvre being re-upped in Laval. Crazy, I tell ya!!

As long as this club is stuck in the past, with antiquated ideologies and practices, it's never going to move forward. Certain criteria need to be moved down the list ...

My team is stuck in the 80s when bergy and his cohorts were in their primes
