I think the trade helps Coyotes ice a better team this season. Rangers are now arguably thinner at centre than Canadiens.
If the Rangers are really trying to shift gears and build younger pool of talent, then strategically I may give them the nod in this deal. But the Rangers are going to be the Rangers and they were probably just clearing cap to go offer Shattenkirk 45 or 50 million.
