Not in any order of preference or skill. They're all at the tops of their respective games. Thomas Lang. Hand and foot independence galore.

Vinnie Colaiuta. He's been around for a while...first gained notoriety as a member of Frank Zappa's band--appearing on three albums, starting with Joes Garage ('79). He also toured with Zappa until 1981....then he could pretty much write his own ticket. A highly sought-after session drummer. Tops among the tops. Sting's Ten Summoner's Tales is a fine example of his more mainstream work. And here he is back in the late 80s with two other greats who are still going strong: Steve Gadd (legendary session drummer), centre; and Dave Weckl, right.

One more Vinnie....from last year....rehearsals....with Tom Scott on sax. Drummers of this calibre have an incredible ability to go crazy and still count to come back on time. Kudos to the other musicians for being able to follow it.

Terry Bozzio...who also gained prominence with Zappa.
