Deal works out to $1 million in base salary and another $1 million in 'attainable bonuses'.

We have no use for a hard working, team focused guy who can still put up points... even at 1 million it's too much for the Habs...
He got 16 goals and 30 assists last year on a very weak florida team. He would have been 3rd in points, 7th in goals and tied for 3rd in assist with markov... And I bet they would have sold a whole Saperlipopetteload of Jagr Habs jerseys... I would have bought one.

His contract last year was $4 million with more than $1.5 million in bonuses. Given our cap space, I certainly would have considered a similar deal. In Hemsky's last full season, 15-16, he did put up 13 goals and 39 points. Ales has to have the weakest shot in the league, so hitting 13 goals again will be a challenge. He may still equaly Jagr in points though as at least Ales still skates pretty well.

I'll be interested to see who puts up more points ... Jagr, Hemsky or Hudon

I'll be interested to see who puts up more points ... Jagr, Hemsky or Hudon I'll put my money on Jagr right now, with Hudon second. I would have signed Jagr ahead of Hemsky. I don't think Hemsky that much quicker than Jagr, but Jagr is a ton better at puck protection. But hey, as Skilly will confirm, we had a chance at Jagr 3 years ago and Bergevin didn't like the idea then. It will be cool to follow Jaro this year to see how he does. I think Calgary is a good fit for him.

For the same price tag as Hemsky, I would certainly take Jagr. But I know for sure that I would not want both on my team.
