I don't see Arnott as the key to a successful outcome. If Koivu is involved in a trade, I would prefer to see a more illustrious name coming to the Bell Centre. Try to think of one.

Poti is a turkey. Holik's salary makes him a white elephant.

Poti is a turkey. Holik's salary makes him a white elephant. I was only saying that in response to the 7M + swapping .... they were the only player I could think of that added up to more money than 7 M ..... well on the spot anyway. I wouldn't want Poti anyway. He is allergic to about 343 things (seriously) and with our luck one of those things would be 110% and he would be blackballed. ;D

Chances are the way Koivu is playing he ain't going anywhere...if he is his stock is rising rapidly. Me thinks if a big trade comes down it will be Zednik and or a defenseman. If the boys keep winning Bob may just sit tight and bring in fringe players only. It would be nice to get a scoring winger thats where we are struggling now. HFTO

The way Koivu is playing, he's worth Arnott + a first round draft choice and future considerations.

MolsonMan is spouting off again on fanhome. According to him, a Blockbuster trade is VERY LIKELY to happen by March 9th.
Stay tuned.

I think MolsonMan is a little ticked off to have been scooped by Mar10 and wanna make sure that if something happens, he can always come back with the "...see, I told you..."... ...but it does spice up things nevertheless...

Caveat emptor
Excessive spicing is often used to disguise main ingredients that have exceded their expiry date. This applies especially to regions where ice and snow are not regular native phenomena.

Deliberately vague rumours from anonymous nonprofessional sources don't enlighten us. At least mentioning the names of the players involved would entertain us even if the rumours are later proved to without substance.

The pithy FanHome post:
MolsonMan Top Prospect Posts: 264 (2/27/04 8:45:27 am) Reply My friends, March 9th is looming ever closer
I say this: a blockbuster trade is very likely to happen for the Habs. Like all my posts i will also say this; the trade may not happen, i mention no names, and suggest nothing else. As always: time will tell.

Lemme tell ya sweetheart, that Michael Ryder may or may not win the Calder trophy. That's all I can say.

Lemme tell ya sweetheart, that Michael Ryder may or may not win the Calder trophy. That's all I can say. I will add this: There is a big chance that Jose Theodore plays the rest of the games this season. However it is also likely that Garon gets a few starts. You can take that to the bank and quote me on it... TrapicheMan

Apparently you weren't invited to the wedding. Hunter, OK? Trent Tucker (if he exists) isn't among the likely candidates.

Forget Molson Man, I'm proud to announce to have some real inside info. Because I'm the cousin of a guy who is playing pool with the niece of a guy related to the nephew of the janitor in Gainey's building, I was able to install a small camera inside his stanley cup ring...
Here is a sample of what happened to Gainey today:
7 :30 Gainey opens eyes
7 :31 Gainey closes eyes
7:58: Gainey opens eyes again
8:00 Gainey visits bathroom, find comfortable position on toilet bowl to read Réjean Tremblay latest column
8:18 Gainey flushes very own residual organic substance along with Tremblay’ column.
8:30 Gainey eats his sponsored breakfast made of chunky soup, Vachon cakes, Gatorade, Buckley sirup and Molson Canadian.
9:00 Gainey arrives at the Bell Centre, greet Michel Villeneuve along the way who is begging for the 658th time an exclusive interview with him. ‘I only talk to reporters’.
9:15 Gainey sits down with Julien to discuss Xs and Os on a board. Gainey wins it with a vertical line.
9:30 Gainey asks Perreault to waive his no-trade clause so that he can ship him to Toronto: “No, I want to play for a contender”.
10:00 Boivin comes in to discuss marketing strategies, the money isn’t really there for Gainey to acquire another player but the public has to think it is. They both agree on a pep talk for March 10th, a speech to give hope for the future ‘When God close the door, he opens a window”. Translation: “We”ll be active next summer”. Next marketing strategy planned for July 31st. “Many fish in the sea” speech is proposed.
10:45: Ribeiro comes in to complain that Saku doesn’t pass the puck to him. ‘I’ll call my mom Bob if you don’t do something about it…”. Boivin has an idea. He will seek money from the provincial government arguing that the Habs are part of the network of day care centers in the greater Montreal. Habs to become an official CPE (Centre de la Petite Enfance).
To be continued...

Hunter, OK? Trent Tucker (if he exists) isn't among the likely candidates. Well, after all that inconvenience, I am cancelling my tuxedo rental. And to think I took the Trent and Darcy betrothal seriously at all. I feel like such a débutante.
