After a pretty rough and long morning after, Price is picking up his game.
He's now 16th in GAA (2.88), 14th in Save% (910) and tied for 3rd place in Shutouts with 2.
When I'm really depressed with the HABS, I look at Price and Latendresse and become zen again!

His game-by-game stats can be found here: whl.ca/stats/gamebygame.php?id=23787He had only 2 wins in October (both in which he gave up 3 goals), and in most other games he allowed 4 or more. Only one loss in which he gave up 1 goal. He followed that up with a very strong November. 5 wins and 2 shutouts (back-to-back to be precise). He faces an average of 30.7 shots per game. So he gets to see a lot of rubber every night. Does he play for a really bad team, or something?

Informed opinion had it that Latendresse and Price suffered from an "NHL hangover".

I wasn't referring to the "rough morning after".

I wasn't referring to the "rough morning after". No, you asked whether he plays for a really bad team, or something. The article answers yes and yes. The combination of the "NHL hangover" and a lousy team contributed to his poor start to the season. Both he and Latendresse picked it up over the past month.

Carey Price out duels Devan Dubnyk tonight. Tri-City wins 1-0, Price with 26 saves and the 1st star.

Kamloops has looked terrible in the two times i've seen them play in vancouver. Good for price though. He won't visit here until Feb 21st. But i'll be at all 3 Canada junior training camp scrimmages next week in vancouver, as well as all of their games and possibly a couple of exhibition games. I'll give a full report on all habbie picks: price, lats, chip.

I'm disappointed for the kid that he was cut from Team Canada, but I don't see it as a developmental setback. He's facing plenty of rubber tending goal for Tri-Cities and handling it well—intense game condition practice be berry berry good for him.

I agree Al. Notwithstanding my concerns about Carey's mental toughness, I think picking Dubnyk above him was a joke. Dubnyk hasn't played as well during the regular season, didn't have a good camp and seems to have been chosen because of he's a couple of years older than Price. Or perhaps he stoned the Red Deer Rebels last time they played. Now, I didn't see much of the games so the WJC braintrust has that on me, but hte posters that did weren't impressed with either Dubnyk or Price. Lately Price has been playing better for the Tri City Americans. In any case, it probably won't matter one way or the other. Unless Chipchura leads like Moses, this team has a lot of question marks besides age. Not suprising after last year's team, which was not only one of the best ever, but kept a lot of younger Canadians off, hurting their experience level for this year. C'est la vie.

I don't see it as a setback either. Pogge is the starting goalie and Dubnyk will have the best seat in the house. Meanwhile, Price will just get better. He's almost a one man show in Tri-City right now and I don't see him learning more as Pogge's backup.
