We'll have to see if he improves his skating to where the rest of his skills can come into play. Glad he's signed though. He's worth the chance.

This is good news. You are right, seventeen, the biggest questions are how his game holds up in league where a lot of guys possess a high skill level and the overall brand of hockey is characterized by levels of pace and physicality that may negate some of the Evans' strengths. It will come down to how much of Evans' skill is negated by that speed and physicality all over the ice. And it will down to whether his game can adapt.
He is not going to be Brad Richards but hopefully he can be a David Desharnais type centre who with better size could hold up more effectively in defensive zone and thus lead a third line with offensive exploitation potential on a good team.
It will be interesting to see him in September.

He is nursing a groin injury, so he won’t be available for the last few games of the Laval Rocket.
The NCAA is typically quite fast hockey, and he has been able to be effective up to this point with his vision and hockey IQ. I guess we will have to wait until next year to see how effective he can be in the pros where he will get less time and space. Getting a quicker first step and some strength would go a long way.
Hey, I am just glad he signed and did not drag it out or else test the market.
