Good recap, Dan. While so much attention has been given to Price and Danis, I can't help wondering if Halak, and to a slightly lesser extent Heino-Lindberg, aren't equally good prospects. Those numbers of Halaks are pretty good and being named to the pre-tournament roster of the Slovak team is a real compliment. Sigh. Would we have been better off with a pick other than Price at #5? We'll have to see in time.

Good recap, Dan. While so much attention has been given to Price and Danis, I can't help wondering if Halak, and to a slightly lesser extent Heino-Lindberg, aren't equally good prospects. We'll have to see in time. Doesn't really matter if Price was the right pick or not cause there's no changing it now. I can't say I liked the pick but I thought it made sense. I'm not a huge fan of his skills but hopefully for the teams sake he turns out to be a good one. I think the '05 draft overall was excellent from the early looks of it. Time will tell and there's always going to be mistakes. With Latendresse I think they made a huge steal, so while I wasn't thrilled with Price I almost fell out of my chair when I heard we got Lats who I wanted us to get since he was 16. As for Halak, I like him a lot but from the little I've seen of Heino I thought he was more impressive at the development camp two years ago. While Halak would stay deep in net, Heino is one of the most aggressive goalies I've seen. I thought he was going to just tackle some players the way he would charge to the top of his crease. If Danis can make the jump next year and replace Huet, that leaves Hamilton wide open at this point. Michaud, Halak would be the likely guys but it would be great to see Heino brought over to put pressure on all of them.
