perks of being a ticket broker i sat three rows behind the canadians bench for the usa game and right behind latendresse and sutter. I was so pissed watching player after player jump over the boards and lats just sitting there trying to remain interested. I wanted to yell at sutter who would have heard me being about 8 feet from me "hey what's wrong with you sutter, a kid who led an nhl team in the pre-season isn't good enough for ya?!"
I actually left after the 2nd period, i know crazy, because i couldn't stand watching this poor kid sit on the bench being totally embarassed by this idiot of a coach. Sutter's cannot coach anything other than work ethic and lunch pail hockey. Scotty Bowman or Jacques Lemaire would school any sutter coach, they coach the way they played. To me it shows sutter's stupidity and not latendresse's lack of ability.
I almost found myself cheering for the states, almost...

McKenzie & McGuire were talking about Latendresse & Pouliot this morning. McGuire believes he will get a chance tomorrow but also talked about some issues - such as Latendresse showing up at Team Canada camp weighing 237. For his part, Latendresse is handling it like a pro & saying all the right things. If he publicly complained or left the team I feel it would show a huge lack of maturity.
Mckenzie didn't come right out & say it but Pouliot, despite his chances, has been a disappointment with his lack of offense.

I don't think that his weight alone are keeping him in Comrade Sutters gulag. Right now, it's the combination of Gui's mostly one dimensional play and Sutters defense first system. The two don't meet and Sutter is the kind of coach that doesn't care for anything but results and this is the kind of situation where ONLY results mean anything.

It's frustrating. Gui plays a strong shift in the first period, creating a chance or two and then blocking a shot, and halfway through the second he still hasn't seen the ice again.

Gui got a little more ice time tonight and the commentators were relatively positive, mentioning that the team might need his offensive contribution in the gold medal game. Pouliot still isn't getting it done IMO.
Chips does all the little things well. He is an excellent positional player, wins battles in the corners and is constantly looking for his shooters. Not flashy but looks like he will be a very effective player.

He has been given all the chances, heck, even the announcers were peeved that he keeps using up one minute of each PP and has nothing to show for it. Gui even blocked a shot and hit a few dudes in his limited ice time. A good asset to have and glad he finally got back on the ice, albeit for not a lot of time. I really expected Sutter to put him on the PP tonight for doing those little things, but I guess not.

why mess with something if it isn't broken? Gui didn't get ice time because Canada kept to their game plan and kept winning. Sutter must have seen something he wasn't crazy about, who am I to question a guy who's perfect at the World Jrs? I'm proud that the captain is one of ours, Chipchura was calm, cool and collected. What a performance! Pogge was outstanding, I'll have to head out to the next Hitmen game to cheer him.

Interesting how Chipchura has been hotter than a fusion reaction since the WJC and Gui has gone in the other direction. Confidence is such a key factor. I'm still ticked at Sutter for playing Pouliot as much as he did, when he was screwing up as much as Gui.
