Numerous outlets reporting, Lou has hired Trotz to be Islanders head coach. Looks like a 5 year deal, and likely north of $4 million per year.

I'll bet that this seals the deal for the Isles in keeping Tavaes, closing the book on that one. Queue the Duchene UFA 19 hype train!

Players will love Trotz, though like you guys say I am not so sure the Lamoriello-Trotz relationship will come naturally.

I expect the first friction to occur when Trotz has to shave his beard.
What an incredibly stupid policy. You could ask players to ensure their facial hair is neatly trimmed or whatever, but to ban it entirely is just being a control freak. I'd tell him to fork off and trade me. (And I don't even like facial hair)
