Sportsnet is out with its Top 100 players list. While you can always quibble with rankings, it's a pretty depressing list for Habs fans: Max Pacioretty (#99) Shea Weber (#83) Carey Price (#47) Some interesting points: The highest ranking for a goalie is #23, which basically says if your best player is a goalie then you probably have issues. If you rank the dmen separately, it gets even more depressing. You KNEW I'd do this: 1. Victor Hedman 2. Erik Karlsson 3. Drew Doughty 4. Brent Burns 5. PK Subban 22. Shea WeberYuck. Even factoring in Weber's recent injuries, that's a sad statement on who is supposed to be our franchise dman. I will never get over that trade. Beyond that, it just shows the lack of elite skating talent in Montreal. Our team is based on a goalie in his early 30s with serious durability issues and a past-his-prime dman with a lousy contract. As for Pacioretty, can we even include him in the future anymore? So we can focus on the young players and the development of Kotkaniemi, but it's going to be a tough road back. link

a past-his-prime dman with a lousy contract. Nothing wrong with his contract. The penalties virtually all remain with Nashville. His NTC/NMC was void the moment he waived it to come to Montreal. The article itself is nothing more than click bait. Get out and enjoy the day BH.

I'd feel better about the tough road ahead if the Pothole Pair weren't going into Year 7.
